AXA Gulf, the Gulf region’s arm of the French multinational insurance agency, said last week it is expanding its services in Qatar to include yacht and pleasure craft insurance.
AXA Gulf said the decision comes after years of steady growth in Qatar that has made AXA one of the leading international insurers in the region.
AXA Gulf said it plans to open two retail offices in the Doha neighborhoods of the Pearl and Barwa City to help keep up with rising demand for maritime insurance.
The new insurance package, called AXA Sail Master Plus, was developed in Qatar and incorporates years of AXA experience in catering to boat owners' needs.
Sail Master Plus customers will receive coverage to safeguard against accidental loss or damage to their vessels. The plan also helps protect the owner from liabilities. AXA Sail Master Plus coverage is also customizable to meet specialize owner needs.
"Qatar is a priority market for AXA and we are committed to introduce customized insurance solutions that address the diverse risk requirements of customers across various segments," AXA Gulf Country Manager for Qatar Salim Mansour said. "The methodology behind our new insurance solution is tried and tested to suit the needs of boat owners and provide them with utmost service throughout the policy duration."
