The Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s (BCCI) Asian traders committee (BATC) paid a visit recently to Sri Lanka’s newly appointed ambassador to the Kingdom, A. Saj U. Mendis, at the Sri Lankan embassy in Manama.
The contingent, led by vice-treasurer Mohamed Sajid, initiated discussions about elevating the level of trade between Sri Lanka and Bahrain to increase the alliance between the two nations with investment and economic partnerships. Additionally, the BATC invited the ambassador to its upcoming commercial networking forum, scheduled for after Ramadan.
Mendis complimented the Bahrain Asian Traders Committee for approaching the possibility of mutual growth as he reiterated that Sri Lanka is prepared to collaborate with BCCI via a number of avenues.
BCCI is chaired by Mohammed Sajid Izhar Ulhaq, with Manoj N. Bahtia serving as vice chair. The committee comprises seven members and five consultants, including envoys from Thailand, China and Malaysia.
Recent activities for the BATC also included a trek to Colombo, Sri Lanka as part of the Business and Investment Conclave 2016 held in March, as well as meeting with the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
