GBI, a global cloud and managed services provider, has named Mohamed Bassit as its vice president of operations.
GBI has a multilayer carrier neutral network that connects the Middle East to the rest of the world.
"Mohamed's appointment comes after GBI's successful transition into a global multilayer service provider. His proven industry track record and operational leadership will build on our core business plans," Amr Eid, acting CEO and CCO of GBI, said.
Before joining GBI, Bassit was a managing director for the middle east and North Africa for Belgacom International Carrier Services (BICS).
"I am enthusiastic about joining such an innovative company that has established new business models and evolved into a global cloud and managed services player within a short span of time," Bassit said. "I look forward to becoming a part of GBI's future growth."
Bassit has 19 years of experience in the ICT industry, serving in various roles such as sales, business operations and product development, as well as outsourcing and establishing partnerships.
