Qatar Airways has entered into a codeshare agreement with Barcelona-based Vueling Airlines that will provide passengers with more travel options to European destinations.
Codeshare flights will be launched between the airlines' two common gateways of Barcelona and Rome and destinations across Europe including France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal and Spain. Qatar Airways operates flights twice a day between its Doha hub and Barcelona and Rome.
"Codeshare partnerships and airline alliances continue to play an important role for Qatar Airways," Qatar Airways Group CEO Akbar Al Baker said. "The further addition of these codeshare routes will offer an enhanced and unrivaled global network and improves our competitive offering."
The new codeshare partnership builds on the interlink deal signed between the airlines in October 2014.
“There are increasingly closer ties between Qatar Airways and Vueling, and this agreement will enable passengers from both airlines to benefit from the flexibility and convenience provided by the codeshare on different European and Middle Eastern routes," Vueling Airlines Chairman and CEO Javier Sanchez-Prieto said.
